Preparing for a Bed Bug Control Treatment

Here are some great preparation tips before your treatment.
  1. Reduce Clutter

Clear clothes from your floor, dispose of cardboard boxes, throw away or donate clothing you don’t wear anymore, dump any old newspapers and magazines, etc.

  2. Isolate

Isolate your bed by making sure it is at least 6 inches away from any wall and remove anything that may be under your bed. Make sure your bedding does not touch the floor.

  3. Inspect & Clean

Visually inspect any areas where you believe bed bugs are inhabiting, then begin by removing eggs, larvae, and remaining bed bugs. Clean furniture, clothing, baseboards, drapery, and other linens. Use sealed plastic bags or containers to relocate any infested items from one room to another. Vacuum your home thoroughly and discard the bag or trap in an outdoor trashcan.

  4. Repair & Secure

Repair any holes or cracks using drywall spackle or a waterproof sealant. Examine wall switches and electrical outlets for evidence of bed bugs, then clean and secure as needed.
