1. Neem Oil: Natria Oil Spray

Neem Oil is a naturally occurring pesticide made from the seeds of a neem tree. The neem oil can kill pests on direct application or repel them from certain areas. It also interrupts their reproductive cycles and ability to eat. Neem oil has been used for thousands of years and should be diluted when used. Neem oil can be used on earwigs, silverfish, mites, and other general household pests. We recommend Natria oil spray as it comes prediluted and ready to use.

2. Spinosad Spray

Spinosad spray is great for gardens and along exterior walls. This concentrated organic pest control solution works against fire ants, fleas, beetles, caterpillars and other outdoor pests. For effective and immediate use, spray on the underside of foliage. Residual effects will last for up to two weeks. It is a natural product of fermentation so it won’t affect your garden crop yield.

3. Rosemary & Peppermint Oil Spray

This all purpose organic pest control product works well for residential applications against cockroaches, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders and fleas. Rosemary and peppermint oil work primarily as a repellent and won’t kill pests. You can buy sachets, diffusers and oil sprays for use near windows and screen doors as a natural pest repellent. Similar to spinosad spray, you can also use rosemary oil and peppermint oil in gardens and greenhouses.

4. Insect Killing Soap

Safer Brand’s insect killing soap uses potassium salts of fatty acids from seaweed as its active ingredient. This is safe to use on gardens and around pets to repel soft-bodied insect pests upon contact. Residual pest control is minimal so Safe recommends application every 5-7 days.

5. Diatomaceous Earth (DE)

DE works for both indoor and outdoor applications made from ground-up fossils of tiny aquatic creatures. DE causes insects to dry out and die by absorbing the oils and fats from the cuticle of the insect’s exoskeleton. It tiny sharp, edges speed up the process through abrasive wear or the bugs body parts. The only catch is DE must remain dry or it stops working.

6. Non-Toxic Fly Traps

Super sticky fly traps are a great way to capture flies and mosquitoes in and around your home. Stick them in plants or hang them in fly traffic areas. A bit of warning: Fly traps are super sticky so make sure to keep them away from pets and infants! Fly traps maintain their stickiness for a long time so they can don’t need regular maintenance. Simply replace them once they are filled.
